- jwilson66ExplorerBased on some of the posts here, I pulled the trigger and got one of these things...my 2 cents:
(1) easy to use; gets up to temp very quickly and does a great job of maintaining temp with plenty of smoke for smoking
(2)undoubtedly great for a 5th wheel with basement storage; not so good with a travel trailer...but I simply put it in the back of the tow vehicle
(3) wish there were more room between the grease plate and the grill grates in order to put a decent sized drip tray
(4)I use foil over my grease tray to help keep it clean but when you don't do that, you don't get "direct" heat for grilling...not sure that matters when you can kick up the heat at the grate level to 400 plus degrees
(5) also lined my grease bucket with foil for easy cleaning.
All in all, great for camping or home use...not going to feed an army with it but a family of 4 is no issue. I've grilled chicken, brats, hamburgers, smoked chicken, baked potatoes (in foil), and a Pork butt...all came out good (overcooked the brats a bit, though...but that was my own fault). - sandblastExplorerNew to pellet grill
Am familiar with all wood flavors for smoking.
Interested in favorite brands and sources.
I`ve seen them at H-D and other big box stores.
P.S. Glad Super Dave got his RV barn done and is again cooking LOL - CA_TravelerExplorer IIIThe GMG Davey Crocket weighs 68 lb plus up to 9 lb of pellets. With the phone/WiFi I can start/stop the smoker, set/change the temperatures, set/change timers, display temperatures, run a profile to automatically make changes as the smoking progresses and I get various alerts on the phone.
In the picture below the left side handle is barely visible and the smoke stack is a sturdy/handy lift point. Also shown are the handle/legs, spring legs and drip bucket. It comes with a T handle socket wrench that can remove the legs or smoke stack for more compact storage. The pellet top and removable right tray can hold various items. It runs on 12V or 120V and I use some 12V LED lights for night time grilling.Click For Full-Size Image.
- Ron3rdExplorer IIII have a WSM and I've brought it a few times to smoke ribs, chicken, and turkey. Lots of fun too.
- GoPackGoExplorerI believe it weighs under 60-70 pounds. But you want heavy. Thicker steel helps to hold in the heat. In any event, I move mine in and out of my fiver by myself.
- dons2346ExplorerThe only downside to the Davey Crockett id that it is heavy for its size. I think it weighs more than my full size Treager

Yes, that's the one we've been talking about. I got both covers for mine. One is the outdoor cover which I use whenever the grill is outside and not being used. The other is a big zippered travel bag. Fold up the legs and set the grill in the bag, then zip closed. It has a large canvas handle for carrying. I put mine in the bag and then lift it into my fiver's basement. That way no errant grease gets on me or anything else in the basement. Both covers are very heavy duty.
I really wish I'd bought a pellet grill a long time ago. It makes me look like a real BBQ cook. - bigred1cavExplorerhttps://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51BwQa2atdL._SX425_.jpg

Yes see my prior pictures. The legs/handles can be removed with 4 bolts and the smoke stack has 3 bolts and it comes with a T handle socket for bolt removal. I cut 1.5" off of the smoke stack so that it and the handles just fits in my storage area. It also has a handle on the pellet box to help moving it.

There are also 4 spring legs for table top usage.
