Knives
I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using wall mounted magnetic knife holders in a moving RV? I would love to get my knives out of the drawer where they are banging together, but don't have room for a block.

- We have a bamboo knife insert that we put in a drawer. Keeps the knives separated and protected. I like to cook so I have a bunch of different types of knives. Bought the insert at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

Not in our case. The oven vent is part of the stove/oven and this is "extra" space betweent the stove and the wall.- I have been wondering how they would work. Happy that you thought to ask here.
I bought some smaller knives with cases at Dollar Tree that I am very pleased with. I wich they made the plastic cases for all knives. korbe wrote:

I mount this type to the inside of the cabinet door below the counter. The knives have never come out during travel. The price is right too.

That's the exact one I was thinking of when I posted. Thanks for linking it.- I have a magnetic strip. Knives stay put as we travel. Magnetic strip works well.

Camco Knife Safe- Your concern regarding knives not remaining magnetically attached would also be a concern to me.Two possible solutions. 1. use a horizontal surface if available. My S&B knife storage is a horizontal magnet. 2. use two magnetic strips, doubles the holding power.
I am not a fan of the blocks etc, they fly in the face of clean in my opinion. - Had one in my Flair and it worked great, so I mounted one in my 2016 Vegas. No problem at all losing knives while underway.
- Mount one on the wall and try it. If the knives bounce loose, go on Ebay and buy rare earth magnets.
They'll hold the knives in place.
