http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visions_(cookware) - 2oldmanExplorer III've always used Pyrex for baking.
- MurphsmomExplorerThey are fine on a gas cooktop, but if you use them on a glass or coil cooktop, you need the little wire gizmo that keeps them from sitting directly on the element. I have a Pyrex coffee pot in the trailer that has been in use since about 1965. No problems with it. I also use a Pyrex double boiler in the house, but would not set it directly on the stove.
If your wife decides she doesn't want them, just PM me. I'll take them!!! - magnusfideExplorer IINo, they're not toxic at all. Sounds like you have Pyrex Visions cookware which was designed for stove top use. They're especially great for glass top stoves.
Pyrex mixing bowls and storage bowls are not for stove tops.
