Light weight portable gas grill

Hi,

Looking for an easy, lightweight, portable gas grill. I want to be able to store it in the pass-through, and when ready to use - pull it out, pop the legs down and hook up to one of my main propane tanks at the front of the camper. Is this doable? Any suggestions? thanks a bunch

I know this does not qualify as light weight by any means, but I thought I would throw this out as an option... the Weber Q series. They are darn near indestructible and have excellent warranty. They are not light but the reason makes all the difference in the world, they have a cast iron grill and ceramic shell. For a portable IMHO you will not get a better cooking surface.

Also I did a post last week on how to modify it to connect to a propane connection on your rig (I know I am not the first to do this) but it may help understand how easy it is to mod them to connect directly to the Rig's gas supply.

Also, amazing customer service with the Weber.
  • There are only two worth considering. Weber Q series or the Weber black box. Both gas or briquettes versions are around 50 dollars.
  • I also noticed that a couple of the models suggested (and thank you for that) use the 1lb propane bottles. How long do they last? Are they refillable?

  • We purchased a Magma Cabo Gas Grill (table top or will need a stand) from West Marine. The legs fold up and it stores well in our pass thru. We've had it about 18 months and love it. We have not hooked it up to our onboard propane tank.
  • Pop the legs down is a qualifier that puts the grill out of the really light category. Take a look at the Coleman Road trip. You will need to remove the regulator and get a hose to complete the setup.
  • We have had one of these Porta Chefs for many years. We think food tastes better on the wire grills. Doesn't take up a lot of room and very lightweight.
