A number of years ago, someone on here posted a mix that was just like hamburger helper. You could mix up a fairly large amount and just measure out what was needed and zip lock the rest. Mixed with your own ground beef, noodles and water I believe was the only thing required. I tried the archived recipes but can't remember exactly what it was called. If the member is still here, please re-post the recipe or if anyone else remember it and has the recipe I would greatly appreciate it.

This is the basic spice mix....1 tablespoon corn starch1 tablespoon chili powder1 teaspoon garlic powder1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon sugar1/2 teaspoon paprikaYou can add...for that S. Western kick1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepperpinch crushed red pepper flakesSpice mix is for1 pound ground beef1 cup hot water2 cups milk1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni1 cup shredded cheese

I also have a vague memory of a mix that could be used to make several different skillet meals. If I'm not mistaken it centered around dry soup mix and additional spices.

I think that around the same time period, but the one I'm looking for was the dry ingredients that you would use just like Hamburger Helper.
The poster had included three or four dishes that you could prepare using this dry mix. We moved about a year ago and the recipe got misplaced (lost). :S If I can find it again, I'll make several copies as well as keep it on the computer.

Yeah it seems they have it along with several other outlets. It seems that you can find about anything you want powdered. I didn't see powdered beer, but I'm sure it was there somewhere.

I can see where that would be handy, especially if you mix up your dry flavorings in bulk. Herself uses powdered buttermilk to create her own pancake mix.

I have a vague memory of some kind of powdered sour cream that my mother used to buy. It was a package like gravy mix comes in. You whisked it with water and it actually thickened up. I have no idea if it is available anymore. Haven't thought of it in decades. But, if it is still around, it would work for stroganoff.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm going to try this, but substitute wide egg noodles for the macaroni.:)
