- propchefExplorerGet a Weber kettle grill and call it a day. With that you can grill and smoke with the same unit. I've smoked everything from whole turkeys at Thanksgiving to salmon.
- ohbibiExplorerAll depends on your budget. I would suggest you to go for a cheap ***Link Removed*** if you are a starter in grilling and smoking.
- eHoeflerExplorer III used a Master Built for years with the smoke box, works exceptionally well. I received a Camp Chef pellet grill/smoker for Christmas. We like it so well, we bought their fold up one for the fifth wheel. I gave the Master Built to our fire department, they use it weekly.
- folivierExplorerWhatever you buy also buy a smoker tube. The tubes put out much more smoke than the built-in boxes. They also allow you to cold smoke cheese, fish, etc.
- pinesmanExplorerI have a larger electric Masterbuilt and a smaller gas masterbuilt for travel. I love the electric one, the gas one wants to cook a little hotter than I want sometimes but both get the job done. I have no experience with CB either.
- bukhrnExplorer IIII have a small Master Built, I asked a friend of my sons if I could borrow it, when he dropped it off I asked where he wanted it returned to, he said, don't worry about it, Keep it, as he'd bought a new bigger one.
I used it to smoke 3 boston butts, worked very well, digital display & controls. - jdc1Explorer IINeither. Get a Bradley.
- MitchF150Explorer IIII have a MB that is several years old. Sits on my covered back porch and has been working fine. The burner just burned out on it and replaced it for under $30.
It has the front glass on the door and remote control. Once it's 'smoked in', it really makes the meat taste great!
No experience with the CB.
Good luck! Mitch
