If you are worried about the sugar, they sort of make a syrup out of their own juices. I like to top mine with a little skim milk and eat it.
I core mine, peel just the top third of the peeling off, stuff it with raisins or cranberries, and some broken walnuts, maybe a little browned old fashion dry oats, and sprinkle with a little cinnamon. Could top with a little pat of butter, but if it is a diet treat, might be good to pass on that.
Cover it when you microwave it, so the steam will help make the syrup.
