Most verstaile/best cooking BBQ/cooking system
Hey all,
Been looking at upgrading our camping cooking arragement. Right now we have a standard portable BBQ that has certainly served us well, but pondering moving up in the world.
First a bit on our situation. We are largely weekend campers, but hoping to move to more weeklong trips in the next couple of years. We recently bought a 1994 Newmar Kountry Star 34' Class A. It has a four burner stovetop inside, no oven. It does have a microwave for those little here's and theres (actually a convection microwave, but haven't really been brave enough to test out the actual cooking features beyong the normal microwave-make-stuff-hot part).
We had been looking into the Camp Chef cooking systems. They do seem quite nice, but almost TOO nice in a way. I like the modular system for cooking more than just hamburgers and hot dogs (ie, bacon can be done on our existing BBQ, but not real well). The ability to expand it to all kinds of different goodies seems really, well, neat.
However, it is kind of big, especially once you start adding on a couple of the cooking attachments. Sure we've got pretty good storage on the motorhome, but there are still limits :)
Even from there, what Camp Chef base cooking system do people use? I liked the Pro 90, because it's specifically portable with the folding legs and all, but the Denali 3X is half the price, and the only difference I can see is that lack of folding legs.
Thoughts/experiences?
Thanks
