Need new SMALL Propane Grill

I most often cook on a Charcoal grill. However, next year I will camping at NPs in the west and a number do not allow charcoal grills because of fire hazard (?). Propane grill are OK.

Can you suggest a propane grill that will fit in the basement storage?

  • The drawback of the weberQ is its bulky, wide with those handles, and has that darn rounded top. to pack in storage bay and expect to put anything on top of it.

If you are a weekend RV'er that's one thing, but when every inch in a bay needs to be used wisely for full-time/snowbird it just doesn't cut it.

After buying 'many' different BBQ's this is what I finally settled in with. Folds FLAT and very thin. Burner for cooking, grill for grilling and an optional skillet plate for cooking breakfast.

They make them without the burner too, where its an all grill surface.

They make these under many brand names for all the big box sporting stores, Bass Pro, Dick's, Gander MT, Cabella's etc.

  • I've had our Weber Q 100 for going on 10 years. So I've gotten a great value out of it. What I like about the Weber line is that parts remain available for them for years. I've had a Weber grill at home for 21 years, still works perfectly and parts are still available. Would I buy another Q if this one was stolen, in a heart beat.
  • That is just what we have. Char-Broil TRU-Infrared Portable Grill2Go Gas Grill

It's a well built, sturdy, compact grill and gets really hot.
  • I"m very happy with this one.

We just bought the Coleman Road trip X-Cursion because our prior Roadtrip was too tall folded to fit in the under bed storeage. X-Cursion is 11" tall folded, but 41" long and 20" wide. Have not used it yet but you can buy a cooking pan grate or griddle for the Road trip series which let's you do more than just grill. We like to keep the heat and bacon smell outside.
  • We got an OGrill from LL Bean when we were in Maine 5 years ago. We STILL love it and the only thing we have had to do to it is clean it after use and before we put it up for the season, we use a pressure washer on the inside to get out the gunk that has built up.
  • For me Weber is overrated and overpriced for what you get. Academy Sports has a 20,000 btu stainless steel grill for $100.00 Works great sits on the picnic table. Gets hotter and 100 bucks less
  • The size of "basement storage" compartments varies widely.
Knowing what rig you have would help answer better......or the size required.

P.S. If you will be in the Florida, Georgia, Carolina's area in the next 3 weeks, I have one to give away.
  • Good advice from camp-n-family

Weber Q. There are 2 models....one with and one without shelves..

  • Weber Q series. Best bang for your buck. Very popular. Should fit in storage but depends on size of your door and which model Q. Cooks as well as my full size BBQ and is easy to take apart and clean. You can use propane bottles or connect direct to a tank with a hose. Many have modified slightly to use with the rv quick connect.
