No stick skillets..

I'd like "one" of the no-stick skillets, not a group. The green ones, "as seen on tv" seem to start a flood of available pots. My question, I see them in the stores, green, black, gray, diamond, heat sensitive, etc. but all claim non-stick.. Are they as non stick as the green ones, "as seen on tv" ?? I really don't need one because I have different cast iron non-stick skillets but thought I'd like to try this new toy.. :)
  • We have a non stick Circulon Symmetry that is anodized. It's said to be hard enough for metal, don't use metal though so I can't verify. It is non stick and about all we use it for are scrambled eggs and it does better than our CI for them.
  • I got one of the Orgreenics over the winter and cannot tell you how happy I am with it. NOTHING sticks to it and I have tried! Highly recommended.
  • We threw out all our old non-stick skillets when we got these:

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Sol Thermolon Fry Pan

We bought one in each size. They are oven safe, dishwasher safe, and non-stick. Even bought them as gifts for other family members.

As often as WLToo likes to make frittatas, these have gotten very heavy use over the last 18 months, and still look brand new.
  • There seems to be 2 versions of the conversation going on so far. "Non Stick" is a topic of its own but I believe the OP is asking specifically about the ceramic pans. I have 2, an 8" and a 10". The color is white inside the pan. They work very well and weren't super expensive. I think I got mine at Ross or Burlington.
  • Consumer Reports just reported that the Cephalon ones were a best buy. I have used them for years and like the way they work. Life is too short to put up with bad hoses and poor pans! I like to have two sizes, an 8" and 10". I also have the 12" at home. I got my pans at Bed Bath and Beyond.
  • We bought a couple green ones at BB&Beyond individually. Have to be seasoned per directions. Happy with them so far, about 2-months.
  • Do a Google search for the most feedback. We like our Swiss Diamond but even it is not totally non-stick.

We have the non stick from Costco sold under the Kirkland brand and it's really well made and works well. You can get several sizes, all sold individually. They are the grey ones, similar looking to Caphalon, but better quality IMO.
  • We've got a couple of them....and love them!
I don't know if it matters what the color is, as much as the fact that you want the ceramic skillets (there are several brands, in different colors). Ours are different colors, because we wanted different sizes, and the Green one is 10", and a Blue one is 12-14", and I forget what color the smaller one is?:)

We got rid of the Teflon, because of some health concerns about them...they break down, and you are ingesting the stuff...and these ceramic pans work so much better than the Teflon does!

I love cast iron too, but these are great for those times when you just want a quick use pan, AND, if you are trying to keep the weight down in the RV:)
