I ran a test to see just how the NuWave operates at all the settings. The unit seems to be sensitive to the temperature setting.
It seems that when you reduce the temperature setting from one that has been maintained, it will shut the power off until the new temperature setting is reached. It then seems modulate the current to keep that setting. The amps change at the new setting, but they never seem to be cut off completely.
When increasing the temp setting, the amps just seem to increase to reach the new setting.
It should be noted that the temperatures changes very quickly. If you have water, etc., boiling and reduce the setting, the boiling will stop immediately. Then if you increase the setting, the boiling will start again immediately. The unit responds in this way with just changing the temperature five degrees.
Good Luck!
