Nu Wave Induction Cooker

Hi,

Just did my first breakfast with a 10 inch cast iron frying pan. All I can say is "wow". It heats fast and beautifully. It is going to be so much better than the hot plates I've been using!

Does anyone know if it will work with a MSW inverter? I'd hate to let out the magic blue smoke.
  • Hi,

I tried regular parchment paper this morning. It got burned when I had set the cooker for 375 F. I don't expect the brown would be any better.

  • Been considering one of these not as a primary cooking, I cook with Natural gas at home, and propane is no issue in the camper. But when trying to bring a large 5qt pot of water to boil to make pasta/noodles for feeding a small army of friends and family when in the RV would be awesome.

Is there something to protect the cast iron from scratching the induction cook top?

The top is glass and hard. We haven't had any problems in spite of using Cast iron probably 60% of the time.

DW will not leave home without some of her fave cast iron pans. We don't bring the whole lot for extended stays, but 3 have to items.

I hear that, not on topic but cast iron fits exceptionally well with RV'ing and the induction tops do as well.
Cast iron can cook anywhere and the new induction tops work really well inside and out as well.

  • Hi Paul,
