My wife stopped drinking coffee because of her glaucoma. I still drink it, but we put away the coffee maker. I now use a Melitta pour over. I set it on top of the coffee cup (it's cone shaped and plastic). Place a #2 cone shaped paper filter in it and then the coffee. Bring water to a boil and pour it over the coffee. It runs through the coffee grounds and drips into the cup. Very simple and easy to use. We have an electric glass kettle at the house and I bought a metal one for the motorhome. If we are not on hookups, then I can boil water on the stove. If you ever go to Starbucks and get coffee when there isn't any ready, they will make you a cup this way.
