SOS Fancy

Was visiting with some folks and the husband shared a fond memory of his dad. When his dad returned from WWII France he brought back a new skill: popovers. His dad would make popovers and fill them with SOS (chipped beef on toast). This one has me thinking of a future project ;)
  • I have filled popovers with a chicken pot pie type filling. DH loved it.
Also , halved, makes a good inividual serving of chicken salad.

Sounds like it should be called POSH instead of SOS. Not sure if I'd like that. After all it's the carbon from the burnt shingle that adds to the overall taste of SOS.

It was hard to get dedicated when you were pulling 16 hours of KP.

  • As if having gravy isn't bad enough for you you go and fry it!
  • Watched a triple D show recently where they let the gravy cool in the frig until it got the jello consistancy. Then they made balls out of it, coated them in panko bread crumbs and deep fried them. They looked yummy!!!
