We ate SPAM all the time growing up and never gave it a thought. It tasted good and kept us going. Mom used to cut it and cheddar cheese into cubes for a cheese plate snack. We thought it was elegant! We also liked Vienna Sausages, Potted Meat Food Product, Swanson's Chicken Spread, and Underwood deviled ham, beef, chicken, or liverwurst. Heck, Mom used to buy whole cooked chickens in a can.
