Stainless steel cookware - recommendations ?

I bought a set of Homemakers Guild cookware at a "cookware party" back when I was in my teens. I still have that same set and have never had another. It was expensive then, and I would hate to see what they would cost now. I guess what I am saying is that you get what you pay for. If you want a good set of saucepans that is going to last, don't skimp on them. BTW those pots and pans of mine are almost 50 years old and still every bit as good as the day I bought them.
