I would not go punching a bunch of holes in the meat as you will let the juices run out during grilling. We have a vacuum sealer(seal a meal) that has a marinating bowl that we use when we marinate things. Man what a difference it makes. A sealing bag can also be used if there is no bowl. The Ziploc bag is probably the next best thing and will work just fine,better than filling the steak full of holes.
