T-fal on gas?

I've never tried it before, never owned the stuff I've always cooked with gas and the best of the best pots.
The GF asked if it can be done, so here I am asking.:@
  • From T-Fal Instructions

T-fal cookware cannot be used in a microwave, over a campfire or
on any type of grill, and should not be placed in the oven during
the self-clean cycle. Can be used in oven up to 350*F for up to on hour.

T-fal cookware is compatible with gas, spiral or solid electric,
ceramic (radiant) and halogen rangetops. See packaging for further details. T-fal stainless steel products are suitable for use on all
    types of rangetops, including induction.

Use only low to medium heat with your T-fal cookware at all times (including boiling water). Aluminum cookware conducts heat extremely quickly and evenly
High heat may damage your T-fal non-stick cookware, and this type of damage is not covered under the warranty
  • Hi Steve,

Yes, it can be done, but it is best to moderate the temperatures.

A red hot burner runs about 850 C and a propane flame runs about 2400 C.

T-fal is safe to about 300 C, so it can be used badly on both types of appliances.

The large burner on a propane stove does about 7000 btu's and the large burner on electric stove about 5200 btu's.
  • Thanks for the replies:) I'm thinking as the GF has never used gas before that I'll pass the info on to her and let her burn a few pans:W
  • "T-Fal"- feh!

Properly seasoned cast iron is the original non-stick cookware, can't be beat for the purpose, and can be used over any heat source.

Buy some for Christmas, and and rest easy!
