We use the char-broil oilless fryer. Its propane and works great a little longer than hot oil. BUT a whole lot safer.. with my SIL being a firefighter it makes him happy too. Inject with seasoning fluids and get the operating temps right and drop it down into the fryer with its basket and just wait on it. Check temps according to set parameters and we have a fried(more like broasted) bird.
we usually have:
the bird, ham, stew/roast beef, sweet potatoes, corn, cranberries, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, slaw, salad, tons of desserts, bread, pintoes, mac&cheese, you name it we have it.. BUT we camp Thaksgiving week with up to 9 other famlies..
