the best roast ever

Have you tried the best roast ever?
We always have a crock pot in the trailer so that when we plan a long day of hiking we come back to a yummy meal.
So here is how hard it is (not)

place your roast in the crockpot, I tend to use a London Broil
mix one packet of ranch dip mix, one packet of brown gravy mix and one packet of italian dressing mix with one and a half cups water.
pour the mixture over the roast
go enjoy your day and when you return, the best roast ever!
  • Wood glue, you sound like a good O'L wood worker. I was and still diddle around with wood working. My last employment before I retired was Building Wood seat boards, Footboards Risers and other boards for Gym Bleachers. That is all I did was the wood part of the operation. A few years before I retired I made all the boards in the Duke NC, Gym. Took me about three months but It was done on time. The Company did a lot of work in 1bout 15 states. I loved it. OH, I had my own shop as well.
  • My experience with crock pots goes back decades and it is probably the greatest home cooking device ever invented. There aren't many things that are cooked in the oven that can't be done in one.
  • Another variation: Brown the meat first. Mix a can of cranberry sauce with a package of onion soup mix, add a little brewed coffee or coke- pour over roast. I use celery stalks or onion slices, to prop the meat of the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • It's the ranch dressing that's the secret ingredient!!!! Extra YumYum

  • it's hard to mess up a pot roast in the crock pot.
I like to put short ribs in with some garlic, lemon pepper and salt and let it cook while we're going down the road.
