I tried this one last year - mash the potatoes as usual (with milk or sour cream or cream cheese, your choice) and put in a slow cooker (crock pot) on low for two or three hours. Just before serving, stir in butter and salt & pepper to taste.
Good way for busy cooks to do ahead.
