If you want a clean grease trapper/funnel, spray a degreaser like Zep on it and wait 5 minutes or so. Then wipe and rinse it off thoroughly. Repeat if necessary. Zep doesn't have the harsh lye chemicals of most oven cleaners. Pure sudsy ammonia works well too: same instructions.
