Acorn Acres

Dusty, dusty, dusty, rude customer service by park tenants, was paid for the site for a week, was ask to put up awning, power pole kept blowing. and dusty!!!
  • Two posts by two different names, both just joined RV.Net today saying the same thing about a park. HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM??

RV Reviews shows an average of 7.7 with 11 reviews. Last three reviews mentioned how nice and friendly the owners/staff were.

Me thinks there is something wrong with this picture.

Did the breaker keep tripping or did your cord burn up like your brother in law posted in another thread, big difference. Your brother in Law's post said it was the power pedestal that burned up your cord. Actually that is relatively unlikely to happen. Since when do other tenants have anything to do with customer service? They are guests, not employees. Might there be a little bit more to this story that we are not hearing?
  • It is possible that the Connections inside the power receptacle got loose, which in turns creates heat. (from amps) That heat then can damage the male plug of the RV with out tripping the power box breaker.(because the amps are less than the breaker rating)
Been in the trades, I've seen similar failures before on similar appliances.

Just saying it is a possibility.

  • We stayed in Acorn for 12 days, 2 families, 2 RV’s nothing fishy about our postings. We observed the same things about this park. My brother in law had a problem at Acorn’s power box. My brother in law has a 30 - amp trailer. Called the owner on a Sunday told him what happened said he would send a electrician on Monday. It never occurred. My brother in law plugged into the 50 – amp everything was fine. He talked to owner and told him that we were using the 50 and that he might want to check so the next person that plugs into the 30 amp wouldn’t have the same problem, The owner said it wasn’t his box?? Anyway we stayed the rest of our time. It would be a nice park if it wasn’t so darn dusty. Due to limited vision it is very danageous at the entrance to enter and exit this park.
