- Two_HandsExplorerWe will sometimes stay at KOA Campgrounds. They seem to have a whole lot of activities for the kids, especially on weekends and holidays. But, we think it is even more important to get the kids into a national park away from their cell phones, ipods, and video games. Get them hiking, fishing and sitting around the camp fire talking and get them playing board games as a family. It sounds like the old folks in us talking, but it sure has worked with our kids and grand kids.

We're just getting started RVing with 4 kids and are looking for sites with tips, info, forums geared towards family camping. Any suggestions?
Let me be the first to welcome you!
If state parks in Pennsylvania (and the surrounding states!) are anything like the state parks in Texas, you and your family will be in good company. My sons are out of the house, but I for one really enjoy seeing (and hearing!) the kids enjoying the outdoors. Bikes, footballs, bean bag toss, running around, you name it. I don't see that in the stick house neighborhoods I've lived in.
