Are you talking about inside I-285? Cuz there is no camping inside the perimeter, unless you want to sleep under a bridge. You'll have to go outside the perimeter at least 10 miles. Stone Mountain is due east. McKinney COE and Red Top Mountain SP are northwest about 30 miles up I-75. Lake Lanier has many COEs about 45 miles north. There really isn't much of anything south of the city, until you get about 50 miles away.

Sweetwater Valley RV park is in Villa Rica about 5 miles off of I-20 and 20 miles west of Atlanta. I don't know of anything inside the perimeter.

Atlanta isn't too far from the mountains of Georgia and North Carolina. I know you won't have the time on this trip, but I suggest checking out areas around Murphy, NC and Blairsville, GA.

Check out the Yogi Bear Jellystone parks. Very family oriented andlots of amenities.

there is an a wonderful rv paek called Sugar Mill Creek RV. IT is on Lake Burton, north of Atlanta. Great time

OP is asking about WEST of ATL. There is a small cg at the Tallapoosa exit.

East Atlanta is NOT a good neighborhood and unlikely you will find anything east of 285. Further west, past Six Flags on out toward Douglasville, there may be something - John Bleakley had a huge RV dealership there a few years ago and there should be something. I personally am not familiar with that area, other than I go through there fairly often.
