Dometic fridge not cooling on electric

I have a Dometic DM2652 unit. The unit will cool just fine on gas, but not electric. The 5amp fuse was blow, so I replaced that, but now the unit thinks its on electric and cooling - even though its not. When the fuse was blown, it switched over to gas.

What is the next thing to check? The wire leads off the control board to the electric heating element to make sure its telling the element to heat? and if those are okay, how do you check the heating element to make sure its working?

  • Replace the electric element.

Fuse blew when the element went.

    Time for new element
  • Check resistance of element as suggested by Chris then check for 120 volt output at circut board.
Verify 120 volt receptacle where refer is plugged in.
  • Check the resistance of the element, should be around 44 ohms. My bet is it burned out.
