Abby may not talk but she sure can communicate! When husband puts on his shoes in the morning this is the signal they are going for a walk and she runs in circles and barks. Lord forbid he decides to wait a bit; 'later' is definitely not in her vocabulary. Also last time we left her at kennel for extended stay, when we picked her up, she barked all the way home clearly telling us to not do that again!
She is also a magician. When the hose comes out she disappears. Loves the water - at the lake, on the seashore, in a river - but hates baths!
If she wants you to pet her, she puts her nose under your hand and bumps it up and down. Normally she is quite independent but if there is thunder (or any loud noise) she is between our legs preferably mine (I let her stay in the bedroom during storms and Robert doesn't).
Dogs are such a joy. They ask so little of us while giving so much.
