Another FAKE service dog gives birth in airport

Arghhh! :R
Service Dog gives birth in airport before boarding plane.
https://wsvn.com/news/local/service-dog-gives-birth-to-8-puppies-at-florida-airport-gate/

How many more GLARING red flags does one need to see that this was

NOT

a service dog?

Just but once again another owner lying to get their dog on a plane.
And the media splashing a false news all over the internet. This owner should have been "arrested for falsifying a service dog to gain access on a plane". Where is the TSA when you need them?

Just using the word Service Dog on all this media coverage gives a bad name to REAL service dogs. This was NOT a service dog.

Pregnant dogs are NOT used as service dogs.
Service dogs are all neutered before being put into REAL Service Dog work. So there would not be pregnant dogs in REAL service.

They seriously need to rewrite the definition of what a 'Real' Service dog is to assist the airlines, and to protect the rights of people who need real service dogs, and to stop this insanity on planes....just saying.

  • I don't want this to sound like I don't like or want qualified service dogs however if you check the ADA code you will find that the ADA only recognizes certain ones, right or wrong emotional support, therapy and companion dogs aren't covered. The animal has to have been trained to do a specific task/s that relates to the disability. You can have more than one service animal if they perform different tasks ie you may have more than one thing wrong and one animal does one task and the other animal does a different task.

What I see is Joe or Josephine citizen thinking and or saying there dog is a service animal just because they bought it a vest (which by law is not required) just so they can take their dog anywhere they want with them. Some are quite vocal about it as well and make a big scene about it. One problem is the business cant do much about it, you can only ask two questions- is it a service dog required for your disability and what task/s does it perform. You are not allowed to ask for papers/certification or a demonstration of tasks performed. So since they are already lying about the need for the dog they have no problem about lying when you ask about it.
  • The father of the puppies was also there. Just how many service dogs does this person need?
  • Emotional support dogs are in fact legitimate support dogs and used by many military personnel for PTSD. They are also used by many civilians for legitimate reasons and are recognized as a true service dog. It probably would be a good idea to actually know what you're talking about before trying to pass accusations you cannot confirm about people you do not know. There is NO REQUIREMENT for emotional support animals to be spayed or neutered.

" A service dog is a type of dog that is specifically trained to help people who have disabilities.

These disabilities can vary widely, but can include those who are visually impaired, hearing impaired, suffering from a mental illness (such as PSTD - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), having a seizure disorder, mobility problems, diabetes, etc."

Let's all hope you never need one. Chuck
  • I agree but, we all know probably nothing will happen. :(
