A dental surgeon's review of an ingredients list is just an opinion. I prefer to let the dog's body tell me if the food is right for that dog.
You lost me on your comment?
Before I take the advice of dog food "experts", like dog food advisor, I prefer to know what makes them "experts". Dental surgeon makes the head of dog food advisor an expert on human dental issues, not so much on dog food.
In addition to my medical-level curriculum in human nutrition, I’ve also cultivated a personal passion for canine nutrition, too.
Our current team includes two dedicated research assistants, an experienced social media admin as well as one extraordinarily knowledgeable (and generous) veterinarian.
Source: Dog Food Advisor: About
A dental surgeon (sorry, human and dog nutrition are not the same), research assistants, social media administrator, and one veterinarian reviews the ingredients on every dog food label to provide a rating on how good the food is. No feed trials to test the food on dogs, no lab testing of the ingredients, only opinions on what makes a good food based upon a label.
However, how a dog's body responds to a dog food clearly tells me how good that food is for that dog.
These sites along with many others provide a decent source for information.
I would rather do some research than experiment on my dog with foods which may not be as good as others, or worse yet, foods made by a company with recalls.
There have been numerous cases of dogs sickened or killed by dog food.
You obviously don't like dog food advisor, but I believe they have more insight than you or I do.
So, I'll do some research before I experiment on my Lab.
