Has several packs around my place back up in Wisconsin. Here to tell you they can take down larger prey than they are supposed to be able to.
They are so overpopulated that in my area you could kill them without a permit and DNR encouraged it because they were taking down a lot of live stock.
I had to be very careful with my goats where they went out back in the lower forty and at night I always had to put them up. And about once a month the farmers would loose all their barn cats. Guess it was like their Friday fish fry only once a month to the coyotes.
Had a Reba CD on real loud one night and each pack started up howling to the music and then you could hear another pack in another direction start up. One particular song would set them off. If it wasn't so creepy it could have been funny.
