Does Your Dog See Stuff, You / We Can't See?

Baby (RIP), ...

and Calvin, ...

Will see stuff quite often. Fur example; There is one stretch of road on 93. Doesn't matter whether we're heading southeast to Kingman, AZ., or heading to Vegas (which is about 15 minutes to, or when we pass Rose's Den). It's the same area. She'll look out the front windshield of our old Hurricane ...

Looking directly at something, then start barking at it for about 5 minutes. When we pass whatever she was looking at. She calmly, sits back on her seat. ...

She's done this for the half dozen, or more trips we made to Vegas and back. Same spot every time. While we're walking, she'd stop, look directly at a particular spot. Sometimes, just looking, and other times will growl, or bark, or both.

Calvin, will do the same. Fur example; We were on a contract. While walking in the building / structure. He stopped, looked up, then start barking at whatever he saw. Now, this is the same spot, every time. Look up, stare, then start barking.

Funny thing was, I told one of the managers. We have a resident energy here. She laughed when I told her this. One day, we were in the building talking. Calvin, walks to the spot, looks up, then starts barking. He did this a few times, while she was with us.

Like Baby, he does this while we're walking as well. Did it again, as usual, this morning, is the motivation for this post.

He stopped, looked up in the sky. I look up, nothing to look at. I always ask them what are they looking at? Who's there / visiting us?

Yeah, try being out in the middle of nowhere, when they see something. Gave me the chills a few times, that's fur sure. ... :B

  • When sad dog comes over and consoles us,also see them stare up at same places in house. I say what you looking at ,is my mom there? She passed in 2013 often wonder if her spirit is near.
  • Yes, I think they can see things we can't. We all know they have hearing ranges that we (humans) cannot here. Why is it that a dog will snuggle right up to a stranger, but growl at someone else. I think they see negative and bad energy radiating from us humans, and they also see good and positive energy too.

I think they can also see into another dimension we we don't see. Cats can see at night .... we can't. So, why not?

Who knows, maybe your dog passing that stretch of road is barking at aliens?

  • They must think we're such dolts?? They certainly smell more, hear more - I don't doubt for a minute there's a lot of other things they're aware of that we completely miss.
  • Yep. See, hear, and smell. I wish my senses were as keen as our Rusty's, our Golden.
  • Our POM would find an ole pumper oil well (think rocking horse) in the distance and would stare then growl or bark. Most often in the desert. They can hear and see things we miss.

Dogs sure can smell very good! They can smell cancer cells growing in a person.

If I start coughing. Calvin will sit by me, or lay next to me. Dang kid, makes me think. OK, what's wrong with me? ... :) ... Seriously though, dogs can sense, or see stuff we can't.
