Dog to dog aggression while camping

A guy with a pit at a CG without a collar and leash is not going to listen to reason in my opinion. I would doubt that the dog had its vaccines as well. I hate to generalize about dog breeds, but...... Pits were bred to fight. Their massive jaws can do real damage. If you have a lap dog, it would not survive an attack from a pit. Yes, there are plenty of well trained, well balanced pits owned by caring owners. Those are the owners that have a collar on their dog and have it on a leash, just like every other respectful camper does with their dog. Back to the situation - I would have first put my dogs into the RV where they would be safe. I would then share my concern with the dog owner, CG host, then animal control in that order.
