It's disappointing that 'drones' have gotten such a bad reputation. It's not like they are particularly new or anything - RC planes and helicopters have been around for decades without causing any real problems. But now that the military and law enforcement have started using them, people have gotten paranoid.
There was a local brewery up here in Wisconsin using drones for beer delivery to ice fishing shacks. I thought that was a really ingenious idea, but they got shut down by the FAA because they didn't have a license. Never mind that the license they didn't have (commercial operation of a UAV) doesn't actually exist, and won't be available until later this year.
