Thanks to all of you for the very kind words. It's been hard to get back on today. Besides all this both the wife and I are battling the flu.
I have beating myself up ever since yesterday morning for not holding him while it was done. I will never forget the last look in his eyes when I walked out of the room. I didn't want to see him take his last breath and the vet (also our good friend) said his opinion was that I shouldn't but of course I had the option and didn't. I know there's a lot of mixed feelings about that and I'm so torn about it. Thank You again everyone for your kind words, they all mean a lot to us. Our other fur kids are doing there best to help with healing that huge gaping hole.
