"Hard to shop-for pets" Really???

A couple years ago, we got our old Bernese his very own outdoor on-demand water heater for baths. He loved it. He even us use it, sometimes.

Ziggy would like a gopher to unstuff. Or a deer....

That's what happens here too, no stuffed toy last more than a few minutes.

Max, my Heart GSD, loved to catch snowballs. Of course, they didn't last long in his mouth, but he would drop it as soon as he saw me pick up another one. He has been gone 14 years, but I still think of him every time it snows here (which is often).

Disgusting things-to-eat aside, Ike could play for hours with an empty 20 ounce water bottle, especially outside, where in his younger days, he'd drop a toy off the dock; then run back to the seawall, and jump in the lake to retrieve it. Of course, there were a LOT of toys that didn't float, like Kongs and tug-o-war ropes... I finally learned to "frisk him" as he went out the door in case he was smuggling something....

Jimmy thinks the cardboard tubes from paper towels makes a fun toy (??? Guess he likes the noise it makes??)

Right now, Ben is into leaves. If the wind blows one across the yard, he chases it down and then picks it up; holding it in his mouth until he chases the next leaf, and so on and so on....

And Jack? I think he had 2 toys in his entire life - a monstrous uber-tough Kong; and a baseball-sized rock. Those were the only 2 things that could withstand the assault.... plus the rock kept his teeth a little dulled....

Ours are each getting a new stuffie - 2 for $5 at Petco (we couldn't have them in the house when we had big dogs!). They'll each also get a Himalayan Chew. They're like crack for dogs! It's much easier with small dogs!

We buy Kirkland Signature Steak Strips (for humans) for our dogs; since we starting using them, they have helped tremendously with training! For Christmas, they will each get their own bag. . .not hard at all.

I don't have to ask what ours want.....
