Spotacus is none too happy at the moment. Last night was the monthly application of flea/heartworm killer/preventative, which always makes him feel a little punky for a day. He did sleep all night, not getting me up at o'dark early to go outside. He stayed plastered up against me until I got up about 0815, and still didn't want to go outside until about 0900.
Considering how hot it's been the last three weeks, I'm amazed at his tolerance for the heat. But he's perfectly comfortable on the concrete under the porch glider sofa and stays there most of the time. He only does his patrols in the very early morning or after sunset hours now, judging from when I have to pull burrs out of his coat...
Speaking of hot, we're in a drought. For the first time in the seven years we've lived here, our water company put us on stage one restrictions. We can only water (or add to the swimming pool) on Monday and Friday. We just water around the house; the meadow is on its own. So the restrictions won't mean much for us, other than to put us on a better schedule than we've been doing. It's kind of surprising that they enacted stage one, when they never did during the really bad drought in 2011 and 2012.
On the up side, we'll pick up L'Andante from Texas Custom Coach on Friday. It's too late to make a trip up to Wisconsin to visit Tall and Short Friends, who've been volunteers at a park up there, but she'll be ready for us to go back to Mom's old place for the auction. And once we have her all inspected and ready for more long trips, we'll put the Rockwood up for sale. Really nice trailer, but we've learned we're just not trailering types; we definitely prefer our motorhome.
Hummingbird looking in the window. Must go add nectar. Later, y'all.
