The Parks Highway from Wasilla to Denali is in much better condition than was the Glenn Highway. Unfortunately, all those locations where we were supposed to see Denali in the distance were a bust, as it was cloudy and occasionally rainy.
So we didn't see Denali itself until this morning, when we drove into the park and up the park road as far as we were allowed to go. It's far in the distance, in the totally wilderness part, so I bought a bunch of postcards with closer views.
The white part in the distance is Denali.

Spotacus got into a bit of trouble just as we were leaving Kenai. I'd left the under sink doors open, and he jumped into the open area that comes in when we close the slide. Took us a good while to coax him out, and now we have a second "doublecheck where Spotacus is" before closing slides.
Today, he decided to toss as much of the litter as possible onto the floor. Good thing it's the pellet kind - easy to sweep up and return.
Tall and Short Friend will be going on a 13 hour bus tour to the end of the park road in the morning. We'll drop them off at 0545, then go to the hotel where we'll get our 5 hour tour bus and have breakfast, then depart at 0800. We'll be back to entertain Spotacus by mid-afternoon, and can get ready to head for Fairbanks on Friday.
It's now 7:45 pm and the sun is as bright as it was several hours ago, but we need some sleep. Later, y'all.
