Spotacus walked up on a bitterly cold December night and rescued himself, the night before my father's birthday, six years after Dad died. Spotacus left us today, the same day Dad died in 2004. I have to wonder if Dad sent Spotacus to us.
WLToo almost has the hole dug next to Alex. My job will be to find the right rocks for the cairn. I'll do that after the burial, when it's cooled off a bit, and when I've found my heavy duty work gloves. There are still active scorpions and giant red-headed centipedes (and snakes) moving about.
Tall Friend has returned, so we've invited him over for pizza this evening and a kitty wake. Then tomorrow, we'll help him unload what he brought back from their cabin in Maine. Short Friend's return is still to be determined.
Then we'll steam clean our house and kitty stuff, in preparation for a cat or two that needs a home.
WLToo wants a pair of kittens or younger adults, so we can get pet medical insurance without having to deal with the "pre-existing conditions" exclusions. Also so we can train them to walk in harness and leash, get combed, and ride in cars and RVs. I don't see the need to go young, as our best travelers were old cats. I did get him to go along with letting the cats choose us, and if there are more than two willing to hire us, then we'll have to choose.
The house is too quiet, and feels totally wrong. We won't be able to stand it long, so meeting some potential roommates will happen just as soon as the house smells less of previous kitties. Makes the new kitties' transition easier.
WLToo says it's ready. Later, y'all.
