After some rather chilly days, we were in the 70s today, and it will be 87 tomorrow. Heater's off again. I love it here.
The kittens are showing so much interest in the outdoors that we really do need to find those old kitty walking jackets, so they can begin to get a taste for being on a leash. Not gonna just let them outside, as we have a very healthy pair of foxes who like to stroll up and down our driveway. I don't know if one was Spotacus' playmate, but they are so much larger than the kittens that we just can't take any chances.
Our doe herd has grown to six, but we don't know yet if that extra one is just a young antler-less buck. Haven't seen any bucks for weeks now.
Next week is our 42d anniversary. Tall and Short Friends gave us a gift card to a winery and B&B, so we're heading there for a couple days. Tall and Short Friends will take care of the kittens.
Meanwhile, I hauled more stuff to the thrift store, WLToo gave away some tools he doesn't use, and the garage is starting to look organized. We still need to burrow back to under the steps to the "attic" over the office, so we can take that stuff to the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. Getting rid of stuff is really fun, and does not lead to bringing home more stuff. I'm liking this a lot.
Next project is building a kitty tree. The guys like the 4' tall scratching post, but now they're climbing it. Czarny learned how to jump up on the bathroom sink, so every time I go in there, he jumps up. They both show signs of being like Alexander the Grrreat, needing to go high. WLToo is convinced he can build a tree cheaper than buying one. He'll need to build it very soon, lest the boys start jumping on the kitchen counters. Not having that.
WLToo harvested enough broccoli to make a beef and broccoli stir fry tonight. It was yummy. We're both getting better at not cooking so much that we have leftovers for a week (I like leftovers, though), so tomorrow is my turn. I've been researching keto dishes, so something keto will be on the menu.
It's working so far; have lost a pound a week since the end of December. If all goes well, I'll be at target weight by June 2020. Not looking forward to resembling a shar pei, but not taking up so much space will be good...
Time for evening medications. Later, y'all.
