We watched a couple of classics: The Bridge at Remagen and something else that completely escapes me.
Today, we just feasted on elk steak and had lovely conversation. Tall Friend showed off the rubber mats he's using on his side of the garage, where he has his workshop. He picked up several stall mats at Tractor Supply. I believe they are considerably less expensive than the gel mats WLToo was considering for his workshop, and if they can hold up to a shod horse's feet, they'll hold up nicely under all his tools, plus cut way down on the vibrations.
We had a lovely time at the winery B&B, plus checked off another bucket list item: Washington on the Brazos, where the Republic of Texas was born. Part of the park is a living history farm, where they moved the last Republic of Texas' president, Anson Jones' house. It's a huge, gracious dog trot of two stories -- lovely place. Dr. Jones' medical practice clearly did well. The docent harvested some lettuce and turnips from the garden and gave them to us. Had the lettuce last night and it was delicious.
We'll have the turnips and greens tomorrow. WLToo is going to wilt the greens as if he was making a wilted spinach salad. I like the idea -- much nicer than boiling the greens into slime.
Today, he put together a new shelf unit to hold the printer, scanner, paper and such. It fits nicely against the window in the music room, so we no longer have the printer in our bedroom. Now I will sell the antique gate leg table the printer sat on. I like the table very much, but we really don't have a good use for it anymore.
He was out in the garden yesterday when the deer feeder went off. Said it scared him, but now we know that new battery and solar panel work. Leoghaire and fawn were the only takers again. That's okay.
Czarny napped on my leg while I applied the Advantage Multi. Did not wake up until I'd finished. But now he's being a little standoffish. Rudy still hasn't been treated. He's so touchy that I'll have to sneak up on him and wrap him in a towel. He did allow WLToo to pet him yesterday and today -- having WLToo be the sole purveyor of treats is working.
It's gotten very quiet. Time to stalk the ginger cat. Later, y'all.
