Tall and Short Friend hosted our weekly get together last week, so this week is our turn. WLToo suggested we serve raclette, but try as I might, I could not remember which grocery here carried raclette cheese. So we'll have cheese fondue instead, with a chocolate fondue for dessert. Hopefully, this week Netflix will let us watch a movie, instead of giving us a busy signal...
Veterinarian brother had a pacemaker installed last week, after he passed out one day. Turns out the interval between heartbeats was too long. This sudden health issue forced his retirement a few months ago, but the pacemaker is already helping. He might even be cleared to drive in a month or so, just in time to come down for Mom's 94th birthday. Short Friend and SIL also have birthdays two and four days after Mom's, respectively, so we'll have a big party.
Nephew 2 reports to USAF basic on 10 March. For the first time in her life, Sister will be living alone (with a dog and two cats). At least now she'll have two spare bedrooms...
