Buddy's wife has set the burial tentatively for late October, if the mausoleum is finished by then. We, Short Friend, Tall Friend, and Fencer will all be there. BW is holding up; she said there's so much to do right now that she has little time for absorbing what's happened. Told her when the meltdown happens, to call -- no matter time of day/night -- and we'll help her through it. Even long distance friends can be helpful, I've found.
The cats have a new game: Crouching Czarny, Leaping Rudy. Unfortunately, they're doing this on and above the bed while we're still in it...
They haven't figured out yet that bringing out the luggage means we're going somewhere without them, so packing for our American Legion China Post 1 reunion has been surprisingly easy -- no kitties packing themselves. Nephew came over to see what's different around here; he's house and cat sitting for us. Means the cats will not be going outside while we're gone -- Nephew will be lucky to even see them. Last time, they only came out of hiding at night, and flatly refused to have anything to do with him. Pity, he really likes cats. His own cat is a ginger that was dropped off at the shelter before he was weaned. Nephew and Sister bottle fed him and he's a lovely 9-year-old cat now.
Hummingbird migration is full on -- we have 10-12 around the feeders most of the daylight hours. I made extra nectar so Nephew can keep them topped off.
Leoghaire either isn't coming by every day, or we just don't see her. She's not inclined to kick the house door like she's kicked the garage door, so we don't always know she's up here. Will add a note for Nephew to feed her...
Beautiful day. Think I'll get in another good swim. Later, y'all.
