Not the Christmas we envisioned. Just a few minutes before dinner was to be served, Tall Friend suddenly tilted to the left, and could not move his left leg. Sister immediately took over, had Short Friend call 911, and shortly thereafter Tall Friend left for the hospital. Short Friend told me to take over and feed everyone as she headed out the door to ride with the ambulance.
None of us felt like staying there, so we cleaned up, packed up the food, and retired to our house. We ate, cleaned up, then everyone up and left. Then Short Friend sent a list of things to bring, as Tall Friend would be staying in hospital. I drove back to their house, picked up what he wanted, then we went to town, dropped off the stuff, and brought Short Friend home.
Strangest Christmas Day we've had in a long, long time.
