Yesterday afternoon turned out absolutely gorgeous. The humidity literally blew away in the breeze. It was a great time to sit on the deck and enjoy some serious kitty time with Czarny.
Czarny tried to walk down the deck stairs hand rail, and when he started to slide, he dug in his claws and looked to me for assistance. I lifted him down to the steps and reminded him that's the way down. Then he tried hard to get his brother to come outside; Rudy finally did. As long as he could almost lean against my leg, he was willing to walk across the deck. Then he found the stairs. As long as he could look back and see me a couple steps behind him, he continued down to the garden. And then he stayed outside the rest of the afternoon. I do believe he's beginning to accept the deck.
It dropped into the 40s last night, and is only 72 now, with a stiff breeze. So the boys are inside, Rudy under the bedcovers and Czarny on the cat tree. For some reason, the last few days, Czarny has abandoned the topmost cat tree platform in favor of what we call the fuzzy teacup. It's a small round metal rod with light carpet that creates a cup-like bed, attached to one of the pole scratching posts. He's really too large for it, but the old cat phrase, "If I fits, I sits" seems to apply. He's decided he fits, so there he is.
WLToo slept in, just now getting up. Time to rummage through the leftovers for lunch.
Later, y'all.
