Well, brrr. Cold front came in and dropped the temps to 10 degrees below normal. With the strong winds blowing, that means this morning was 58 and the high will only be 75. We're actually wearing long pants in May. At least we're not freezing our badoobies off like you northern residents are doing. This is one strange month...
Leoghaire showed up yesterday, still hugely pregnant. Anytime now, anytime. WLToo has his big camera ready to get photos of the new fawn(s).
Both cats are outside, looking for someplace warm and away from those nasty birdies. Czarny was swooped upon enough times yesterday morning that he finally ran back inside. He was sitting on me, saw a barn swallow swoop near the window, growled and ran under the bed. He stayed inside, under the bedcovers, the rest of the day. We'll see how long they stay outside today, with so many barn swallows and mockingbirds out gathering food for the hatchlings.
Sister, Tall Friend and Short Friend will be here tomorrow for Mother's Day. WLToo made up burgers with ground venison, venison sausage, onions and a few more spices, then let the meat sit in the fridge a couple days, before forming the patties this morning. It smells wonderful in here. I still need to make the keto Texas sheet cake, then we're ready.
The pool cooled down with the lower temps and wind, so I doubt it will be warm enough for swimming. Sigh. I really want to get back into the daily pool workouts.
