We're busy packing up Mom's independent living apartment and moving her in with Sister. Mom's been out here in the country with us since March, when we pulled her out of IL just before the big city locked down all such facilities. While she enjoys the country life (farm child then wife all her life), she wants her stuff around here, and we have absolutely no place to put any of it. Sister bought a big house closer to us (about 40 minutes away, versus over an hour without traffic), specifically so Mom could move in with her. Better financially for both of them.
After five months, it will feel really strange to not be able to just look across the room and consult Mom, but she does need to be back in the middle of all her genealogy records. At 95, she needs to get more of her research and memories written down, as she is the last of the line who still knows the family history. We'd like to keep the genealogy going when she's gone, so the more she documents now, the better for all descendants.
Czarny decided this morning's humidity was too icky, so he's zonked on top of a cat tower.
Fox Daddy came across the driveway yesterday by himself. When we greeted him, he sat down and watched us for a bit. When he got tired of us chatting to him, he leaded through the fence. I don't know when fox kits leave the den permanently, but Fox Daddy by himself was definitely different -- it's been all five of them transiting together all summer.
No sign of any deer for the last few days, but there's little to eat in the meadow for now, anyway. We did get over an inch this week and stuff is greening up fast, but it will still be a few days before the new shoots pop up enough for them to eat. We really need to get over to Tractor Supply for some feed.
WLToo got his new CPAP yesterday and has a Zoom consult this morning -- he already knows the mask is the wrong size. My CPAP arrives Thursday. WLToo had a CPAP for several years, so he knows the drill. I've never had one, and just barely qualified for one, so I don't know how long I'll actually need it. As the weight goes down, so does the need for a CPAP. No idea how that noise will affect Czarny's presence in bed with us. Never bothered Alex or Spotacus, but they were older cats.
Time to get moving. Later, y'all.
