We have a lot of experience pulling out shrubs, Magnus...
Hosted the Easter dinner, outside on the deck, using our best bone china. Absolutely perfect weather day. Put Tall Friend on the corner seat where it was easier for him to maneuver, then Sister next to him where she could easily reach her crutches. We ate very, very well.
The only one not enjoying the day was Czarny. Nephew brought both his dogs (without asking first). While the dogs do not chase cats (Wyatt the huge German Shepherd is afraid of cats), Czarny thought he should go into hiding somewhere outside all day. Dogs had a great time running around our five acres, which is still bereft of fawns. As soon as the does begin dropping fawns, Nephew's dogs are banned, and I told him that.
Anyway, it took a long time to get Czarny back into the house, where he spent the rest of the evening until bedtime sniffing everywhere the dogs had been. Yesterday, he was outside a grand total of five minutes, and so far today, he's only been outside two minutes. Feeling he couldn't come back into his own house must have thoroughly frightened him.
His routine will be further upset in about a week, when we take Obi-Wander on a trip. We'll spend a couple days/nights camping by the garage, so he can get used to the space and general noise -- especially since we'll be running both air conditioners in this 90-degree heat. Since he tends to cling to me when frightened, we'll probably have to make him stay in the carrier while I'm driving. I doubt he'll be as calm about riding down the road as was Spotacus.
Whoa, look who just woke up. Time to reassure Czarny again. Later, y'all.
