Mother Nature is thoroughly messing with the local meterologist. Sunday forecast was for dense fog until mid-morning, then sunny. It was dense fog until mid-afternoon and cloudy. Monday's forecast was for dense fog until mid-morning. I drove to the big city and back early in the morning, and not a speck of fog to be had. Today's forecast was warm and humid, but mostly clear. It's almost warm, definitely humid, and overcast, with a touch of fog. Supposed to be 80 degrees on Friday and sunny. We'll see...
Christmas presents were well-received. No leftovers to eat up. All is quiet. Santa brought me a cowbell, painted white with "More Cowbell" written on it. I love it. Will add to my miscellaneous percussion instruments bag for the band.
Tall and Short Friend will not be returning from Minnesota today. Weather and airline issues. Maybe tomorrow. They did sell the Fifth Wheel (well, she put down a deposit and is applying for the loan) the day before they flew up there, so today Spousal Unit broke down the ramp he built for when Mom was living in it.
On the wildlife front, a couple of really nice looking bucks are doing the daily trek around our fence line, and sometimes coming into the meadow. We haven't gotten good photos of them yet; they insist on coming after the best light has faded.
Harley got upset last night and scratched my hand. It's nothing, just a little stingy. But on top of the bite Nephew Two's cat gave me Christmas Day (cat hates me since I took him to the veterinarian when he was desperately ill as a kitten), hand is a mite sore. I keep scratches and bites open to drain a couple days, while spraying with hydrogen peroxide several times a day. When the red is mostly gone, I let them close up. It's been working for years, and I rarely even have a scar. Harley's scratch is already clear; Monty's bite is a touch red and warm, so another day with the hydrogen peroxide should do it.
Not much else is happening around here until this weekend. Trombone Player and Clarinetist, two of my college buddies, will be here to celebrate the new year. That will be lively...
Later, y'all.
