For Czarny:
Love it. Thanks.
Well, Spousal Unit got the news yesterday. It's prostate cancer. Next up will be a testosterone blocker, a cat scan to see if it's metastasized, then treatment options. He's pretty calm about it; he suspected cancer long before the biopsy.
He's always been a fast healer. His basel cell carcinoma was cut out two weeks ago and the stitches removed a week later. Nothing there now but a small scar. When his appendix blew up, his body walled off the infection. When he gashed his leg, it healed completely in two weeks. Cuts, bruises, scrapes, dings -- they heal super fast. If this cancer hasn't metastasized, his body will probably take whichever treatment and run with it way beyond expectations.
Back on the critter front, Daddy Fox led his three kits past the house and up the hill yesterday, in full view. Then this morning, SIL interrupted their drink of water, and Daddy Fox growled at her, so instead of going for her morning walk right then, she came back inside until the foxes could finish their morning routine.
A couple hours later, Czarny and I went out on the deck. As I strolled toward the garage, Daddy Fox exploded out from under the pool, ran to the other end of the garage, sat down, and stared at me. I guess he was still supervising the kits and hadn't gotten them back to the den yet. I talked to him normally, and he finally strolled back toward the den.
I also ushered Czarny back inside, where he stayed all day. He's not particularly happy about having done so, but with Daddy Fox and three kits out hunting together, he's safer inside.
Bedtime. The family is descending upon us for elk roast and a pool party tomorrow.
Later, y'all.
