Wow, an amazing change!
I understand following your dreams though. However, we went north, from waterfront property on Vancouver Island to an old cabin in the bush in Yukon, with our own creek and mountain views!
The dogs love it here too ... lots of elk, bears, lynx, snowshoe hares, etc. to keep their minds busy!
